The 2015 Biel/Bienne Festival of Photography

The kick-off of the 19th Biel/Bienne Festival of Photography will take place on Friday, August 28 with the opening night of the exhibitions. The first weekend of the Festival will be marked by new encounters and discoveries, including the now-indispensable Photographers Day with 14 Swiss and international photographers, as well as a panel discussion on new approaches in editorial practice. Panel discussion: New approaches in editorial practice

What does it mean to create a print photo publication today in the era of the internet, and how should it present photography?
 
Delphine Bedel will talk about her work as an editor at Meta/Books and her doctoral research on the future of publishing. Salvatore Vitale will describe his publishing project (Yet Magazine) and conditions in the current market, focusing on periodicals.
