HELLERAU – Europäisches Zentrum der Künste Dresden und die Kunstagentur Dresden loben den Wettbewerb zum zweiten Mal aus. Am 1. Juni startet die Ausschreibungsphase unter dem neuen Motto »CHANGE«. Bis zum 6. November 2016 können Fotografen einzelne Fotoarbeiten oder Serien mit bis zu zehn Bildern einreichen. Ausgelobt sind Preise im Gesamtwert von 10.000 Euro, darunter ein Residenzpreis im Europäischen Zentrum der Künste. Eine zehnköpfige Jury entscheidet, welche Arbeiten in einer Ausstellung im März 2017 im Festspielhaus Hellerau zu sehen sein werden.

For the fifth time under its current guise, Festival Images will transform Vevey into a real "city of images" from 10 September to 2 October. Confirming its status as Switzerland’s first Biennale of visual arts the Festival will present 75 original installations by international artists and upandcoming talents in unexpected places, indoors and outdoors, around the common theme of ‘immersion’, providing a genuine largescale, free of charge photographic experience for all visitors.

Entries are now open for the 2016 international Travel Photographer of the Year awards (TPOTY). Amateur, semi-pro and professional photographers of all ages are invited to enter until the closing date on October 1st, and TPOTY has a range of categories and themes to challenge their skill and creativity.
This year’s TPOTY competition features three portfolio categories, three ‘One Shot ‘ single image categories, a ‘Smart Shot’ category for images taken on a mobile phone or tablet, Young TPOTY, a ‘New Talent’ award and an HD video category.

From September 10 to October 2, Festival Images Vevey will once again transform the little town of Vevey into the Swiss capital of photography. Visitors will get to discover over fifty projects based on the theme of ‘immersion’: large-scale outdoor exhibitions on façades, on the lake and in parks, indoor exhibitions in unusual venues, and joint ventures with people who ensure Vevey’s status as a ‘city of images’ all year round. Entirely free of charge, Festival Images is a true open-air museum as well as a quality platform for national and international artists. Held every two years for a period of three weeks, it enables tens of thousands of visitors to discover the best in contemporary photography.
