The Felix Schoeller Photo Award honors works that clearly illustrate a love of photography and exceptionally stringent demands on picture quality. The aim of the award is to honor and lend support to photographers who share our passion for uncompromisingly good photography. The Felix Schoeller Photo Award is presented every two years. The 2021 competition comprises the following categories:

2021 Lenscratch Student Prize is calling for the work of students who are pursuing a BFA or MFA. It is dedicated to providing financial and creative support to photography students. Anyone currently enrolled in a bachelors or masters degree program in photography is encouraged to apply!

The International Photography Festival is Israel’s largest photography event and will be taking place in November 2021 for the ninth time. After a year in which the daily meetings we’d taken for granted were canceled or transformed, the concept of a “Meeting Point” has become ever more significant. At the upcoming festival Photo Is:rael will seek to explore this concept from a variety of angles and interpretations, using innovative methods of representation through photography and other forms of media. Artists working with photography, video, performance, and multimedia from around the world are all welcome to submit their existing works, or proposals for new work on the topic of Meeting Point.

Rencontres d'Arles invite emerging photographers to show their work one evening during the festival’s opening week (July 4 to 11, 2021) at the Théâtre Antique, the Rencontres d'Arles. Each selected photographer will present one of their series with total freedom of expression on a large screen (16m x 10m), accompanied by a DJ. The only requirement: each original presentation be 5 to 10 minutes.

FOTONOVIEMBRE is a photography festival which focuses on various aspects related with the image, contemporary art, new technologies, photographic heritage, artistic creation and the development of the medium. The mandate of the festival, held in Tenerife since 1991 and a driving engine for photography in the Canary Islands and further afield, is to enable and promote a wide-ranging rethinking of the image as a means of expression, communication and participation. Five artists will be chosen to form part of the section entitled "Artistas en Selección (Artists in Selection)", at the FOTONOVIEMBRE 2021 biennial taking place from October to December 2021.

Since 2015, the Rencontres d’Arles has offered an award supporting the publication of a dummy book. The LUMA prize is open to any new photographer or artist using photography, submitting a previously unpublished dummy book. Special attention is paid to experimental and innovative forms of publishing. The 2021 winner’s dummy book, as well as those of the nominees, will be exhibited this summer during the Rencontres d’Arles.
The application deadline is Monday, May 12, 2021.
When taking a picture of a landscape, just like in a portrait or a scene, photographers attempt to tell a story: from dramatic rural vistas to urban panoramics, or seemingly-abstract aerial compositions images that showcase our planet’s diverse and beautiful topography.
