The LensCulture Portrait Awards is the 2nd annual call for international portrait photography. The importance of portraiture is present in cultures across the world, illustrating the power and endurance of human connection. With over 145 countries represented on LensCulture, in over 15 languages, we’re seeking new global perspectives on the modern day portrait.
This is an open call for portrait photography from around the world. 6 Winners and 25 Finalists will be chosen.

For the fourth time, the city of Duesseldorf will be host a vibrant programme of photography for the Duesseldorf Photo Weekend 2015. Numerous galleries, museums and institutions will open their doors showing exhibitions and holding events dedicated to photography.

In the exhibition Himmel und Erde (Sky and Earth) pavlov’s dog presents the work of two photographic artists who point their cameras in diametrically opposed directions. Beatrix Reinhardt looks downwards, towards the soil and photographs seemingly nondescript grasses, whereas Conor Clarke looks upwards alongside the industrial chimneys, which are constantly emitting smoke towards the sky.
