plainpicture photographer Ulrich Mertens is passionate about environmental protection and kept photographic records on the turnaround to renewable energy sources for more than 10 years. Landscapes and urban spaces seen from the tops of modern wind turbines, evidence of the transformation from fossil and nuclear energy to wind energy. Now his work is published within the photobook: Wind in Sicht-Landscape in Transition.

Lenscratch supports student work through an annual Student Prize each June. Submit a project of 15 images from one body of work.

plainpicture photographer Ellen Bornkessel brings within her project "Embassy of Trees" nature back into the city and gives the trees a voice. The "message of the trees" is an appeal for us to reconcile with nature, to be protective of the climate, to integrate nature into the cities and to plant more trees now.
You can meet the artist on May, 20th, 12 p.m. at the infocus Gallery at the the Michael Horbach Stiftung, where the photographs are to be seen until May, 27th.
Exhibition will be continued in front of the the Cologne Town Hall, June 5th - 18th.
